The King On The Cross

Written April 25, 1993.

Over the blowing wind,
The rain patters from the sky.
A solider with a message to send,
The King shall surely die.

Up on a shallow hill,
The three crosses stand so tall.
A solider will surely kneel,
And the King shall bless them all.

Then death did come,
The mist fell from the sky.
A soldier with the news to come,
The King did surely die.

The Christians wept,
And darkness filled the day.
The King only slept,
A debt He had to pay.

The body brought down,
The three crosses performed well.
A soldier fell to the ground,
He wept for the King that fell.

A fisher of men,
By men was He crucified.
For a soldier in his sin,
For the sin of all had He died.

He slept for three days,
And arose again in His might.
For sins of the world He payed,
So that glory can be in sight.
